Ashes to Ashes

see video here

video documentary of the process behind the ashes to ashes installation. a sheet of tinfoil is wrapped around a quarter log of wood and rubbed with a brush to form an impression of the wood’s surface in the foil. the foil is cut open and the log removed, this process is repeated numerous times. the log is then burnt in a fire and the resulting ash is carefully collected and arranged before the rows of impressions it created.
